Letellier Volunteer Fire

The Letellier Volunteer Department was founded in November, 1978. The birth of our department came about as a result of new equipment being purchased for St Jean Baptiste.

Letellier, under the leadership of Mr. Joseph Lavallee, inherited a 1953 home built pumper from our sister department. The organizational meeting in November 1978 resulted in an initial roster of 12 volunteers who organized several fund raising events to purchase much needed equipment. A 1 ton truck was purchased for hauling equipment and in 1983 a new pumper was purchased.

Currently the department is under the direction of Andrew Dixon and has a total compliment of 17 personnel. The roster consists of 1 public education officer and firefighters. The equipment now consists of the pumper purchased in 1983, a 1993 medium duty rescue unit with jaws of life, 2016 Pumper  and 14 foot Zodiak boat with a second jaws of life. The department also has a snowmobile and rescue sled which were donated by local citizens to provide off road winter rescue.

The Letellier and District Volunteer Fire Department is proud to serve the residents in the R.M. of Montcalm and is committed to saving lives and property in our jurisdiction.
