Registered Candidates

Being a registered candidate does not make an individual an election candidate. Being a registered candidate gives the individual the ability to accept donations and take part in campaign-related activities.

Registration is open for the 2026 municipal general election for Montcalm

on June 30, 2026.

Nomination period for the 2026 municipal general election for Montcalm is

September 16-22, 2026.

 

Registration information is disclosed to:

·         provide the public with clear information about who has registered for campaign-finance purposes;

·         promote transparency around campaign activities;

·         allow potential donors and others to confirm that an individual has registered before participating in campaign-related activities; and

·         reduce the need for members of the public to make individual information requests.

An individual is only a candidate when the Senior Election Official (SEO) has accepted the nominations papers. Submission of nomination papers does not confirm they are a candidate. The SEO must review the papers for completion prior to accepting them and confirming the candidate.

Nomination information will be disclosed following the acceptance of the nomination papers by the SEO.
