The St. Jean ATV/UTV Derby is one of Manitoba’s largest and most well-known off-road events, held annually in the community of St. Jean Baptiste.

Taking place each September, the derby brings together riders, volunteers, sponsors, and landowners for a weekend of outdoor adventure, community spirit, and fundraising.

The event features a scenic trail ride through the Red River Valley, along with mud pits, check stops, food vendors, entertainment, and a popular poker-style format. Participants travel a marked route that highlights the surrounding countryside while enjoying a fun, social riding experience.

A major highlight of the weekend is the strong sense of community involvement. Hundreds of volunteers help organize and run the event each year, making it possible for thousands of riders to take part safely and successfully. Proceeds from the derby are reinvested into local organizations and community projects, supporting recreation, facilities, and services throughout the area.

The St. Jean ATV/UTV Derby has grown significantly over the years, attracting participants from across Manitoba, Canada, and beyond. Today, it is recognized as Canada’s largest ATV derby and continues to be a signature event for the community.

With camping, live entertainment, and a full weekend of activities, the derby has become more than just a ride—it is a celebration of rural life, teamwork, and community pride in St. Jean Baptiste.
